A fantastic, easy to read, fun to read, math book, Danica McKellar’s Math Doesn’t Suck is a great parent and tutor aid for students struggling with middle school math. The stories are designed for girls, but can easily be converted for boys ā and many don’t need to be.

I reviewed this book prior to helping in a Fifth Grade Math class, because I wanted to be smarter than a fifth grader! It was a good review, especially multiplying and dividing fractions. The author also gives clear tips on how to solve for least common multiples and denominators. The book is a little ‘girlie’ in some parts, but overall helped me refresh on some points that I seemed to have forgotten in the last 40+ years since fifth grade.
